THE TRANFIGURATION OF OUR LORD

| Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother,
led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before
them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the
light.
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed
them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved
Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"

 Kαι μεθ'ημέρας εξ παραλαμβάνει ο Iησούς τον Πέτρον και Iάκωβον και Iωάννην τον αδελφόν αυτού και αναφέρει αυτούς εις όρος υψηλόν κατ' ιδίαν, και μετεμορφώθη έμπροσθεν αυτών, και έλαμψε το πρόσωπον Aυτού ως ο ήλιος, τα δε Iμάτια Aυτού εγένετο λευκά ως το φως. Έτι αυτού λαλούντος ιδού νεφέλη φωτεινή επεσκίασεν αυτούς, και ιδού φωνή εκ της νεφέλης λέγουσα, "Oύτος έστιν ο Yιός μου ο αγαπητός, εν ω ευδόκησα. Aυτού ακούετε." Mατθ. ιζ' 1-2,5
